Sqoop import gives error org apache hadoop security AccessControlException Permission denied

I have created a sql database and have created table. I have made entries in the table and it all works fine. I have verified it with

select * from tablename;

Now I am trying to import this table in sqoop using the following command:

sqoop import --connect jdbc:mysql://localhost/user --username -P --table Employee --target-dir /sqoopOut

But I am getting this error:

Seems like you are not passing the right username and password to access the sql database.

sqoop import --connect jdbc:mysql://localhost/user --username <username> -P <password> --table Employee --target-dir /sqoopOut

In this command, replace <username> with the username used for the database and replace <password> with the password used for that database and that user.
