Selenium WebDriver typing speed is slow in input text field

0 votes

I am executing a test script on IE 11 browser with Selenium 2.4.1, where the script allows to enter text in a text field using the following:

element.sendKeys("text");

I noticed that one character of the string is typed in the text field and it waits for 1-2 seconds before typing the next character. I want to understand that "Why is typing so slow with IE?" and "Is there any alternate way to speed this up?"

It worked for me in the 64bit version of IEDriverServer.

I just added the property requireWindowFocus with the value "true"

DesiredCapabilities capabilities = DesiredCapabilities.internetExplorer();
capabilities.setCapability(InternetExplorerDriver.INTRODUCE_FLAKINESS_BY_IGNORING_SECURITY_DOMAINS, true);
...
capabilities.setCapability("requireWindowFocus", true);
WebDriver driver = new InternetExplorerDriver(capabilities);
