Python Glob to find files recursively

0 votes

This is what I have:

glob(os.path.join('src','*.c'))

but I want to search the subfolders of src. Something like this would work:

glob(os.path.join('src','*.c'))
glob(os.path.join('src','*','*.c'))
glob(os.path.join('src','*','*','*.c'))
glob(os.path.join('src','*','*','*','*.c'))

Can someone help in a better way for doing this ?

import os, fnmatch

def find_files(directory, pattern):
    for root, dirs, files in os.walk(directory):
        for basename in files:
            if fnmatch.fnmatch(basename, pattern):
                filename = os.path.join(root, basename)
                yield filename

for filename in find_files('src', '*.c'):
    print 'Found C source:', filename

Instead of finding all files and processing then you can simply use a generator
