How to add same filter to multiple data sources in tableau server

A, B, and C are my three data sources. Proxyid is a field that appears in all three of them. Due to the use of sophisticated computations, I am unable to mix them. Using these data sources, I constructed three spreadsheets in total. With these three spreadsheets, I'm making a dashboard. I'd want to utilise proxyid as a single filter that can be applied across all three spreadsheets.

However, I presently have three proxyids as filters, one for each worksheet on the dashboard. How can I use a single filter to apply to all three worksheets?

If numerous data sources have a field with the same name and data type, or if you specify explicit associations between data sources from the Data menu, you can apply a filter to linked data sources.

Then you can just put one filter control on your dashboard and have it apply to all of your associated data sources.

The parameter approach mentioned by Andy is also effective, and it was the primary option before Tableau introduced this function, which requires less effort to set up.
