Tableau - how to show a legend for a stacked bar chart

0 votes
A stacked Tableau bar chart is one of the charts I have.

I'm not sure how to "turn on" the legend display to see what the colour values in the stacked chart indicate.

Actually, I've found the legend now(it's on the right, behind the filters (if any), rather than in the main body/canvas of the report / graph)

I believe the solution is that legend settings are accessed using the ribbon's "show/hide cards" button (third from right) (is this correct?) (Is this the only option?) (I'm curious whether the show/hide cards option is also accessible through menus?)

The legend may be formatted using the menu Format Choice - Legend menu Options

I'm curious about legend placement and how it will appear in PDF.

This Legend position appears to be specified in the file | page setup options.

I'm afraid I'm going to get marked down since I don't comprehend what you're asking...

The only way to adjust the visibility of the Legend is to use the ribbon.
If you're printing a sheet, you'll want to use File > Page setup, but if you're using a dashboard, you'll want to use real placement.

When people talk about printing to PDF, it makes me nervous. You've sacrificed much too much utility. However, I would love to create a dashboard to precisely regulate legend position.
