Automatically create requirements txt

0 votes
There are times when I install the source code of Python from github but am clueless as to how to install the dependencies. If there is no requirements.txt file I have to create it by hand. My question is given the python source code directory, will it be possible to create requirements.txt automatically from the import section?

You can use the following code to generate a requirements.txt file:

pip install pipreqs pipreqs /path/to/project

Sometimes you come across pip freeze, but this saves all your packages in the environment including those that you don't use in your current project.
