Technically speaking, yes and no. Yes from a technology/quantitative perspective. As a data scientist, you are expected to be better at algorithm development, tech and statistics than a data analyst. No because a data analyst often works with other business units and has more of an opportunity to understand the context behind how the data is generated etc. So they might be able to communicate and understand business problems better. IMO data analysts are horribly undervalued.
