The difficulty of the PMP (Project Management Professional) exam can vary depending on your experience and preparation. It is generally considered challenging, as it covers a broad range of project management concepts and practices outlined in PMI's PMBOK Guide. However, with Edureka’s PMP exam preparation and online training, many candidates find they can pass the exam on the first attempt.

Previously, PMI® had published 61% as a passing score. However, PMI no longer discloses the specific passing score or percentage. Following the update to the PMP® Certification Exam, each candidate's passing score for PMP Certification varies and is determined by the difficulty level of their attempted questions.

The PMP certification exam consists of a total of 180 multiple-choice questions. Interestingly, 5 of these questions are pretest and do not impact your final score. Their primary purpose is to assess the validity of these questions for potential use in future exams. All 180 questions are distributed randomly throughout the exam.

Here's a quick breakdown of the exam:

                    • Total Questions: 180
                    • Scored Questions: 175
                    • Pretest (Unscored) Questions: 5

                    • A combination of multiple-choice, multiple responses, matching, hotspot, and limited fill-in-the-blank questions
                    • The questions fall into three domains: People Domain 42%, Process Domain 50% and Business Domain 8%.

PMI® does not accept email and faxed audit documents, and participants are advised to send all necessary documents together in one envelope to ensure a prompt processing time.
Suppose you do not meet the audit requirements for the PMP® Exam. In that case, the consequences may include rejection of your application, further review or verification by PMI® (Project Management Institute), request for additional documentation, or potential disqualification from taking the exam.
The fees for the PMP® Exam are typically required to be paid before the audit process.
If you fail to attend the PMP Certification Exam on the date scheduled, you can apply for a full refund from PMI®. To claim a refund, you need to notify them via email at [customercare(at) pmi(dot)org] within 30 days before your exam eligibility ends. PMI® will refund your fee, deducting a $100 processing charge. It is essential to adhere to the specified timeline and follow the given instructions for refund requests.

You can attempt the PMP® exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. The passing rate for the PMP exam is around 50% to 60%.

If you fail to clear the Exam, you get to request a re-evaluation. While doing so, reach out to the Project Management Institute and adhere to their rules and regulations for trying an evaluation of the exam results.
Participants are allowed three attempts to pass the PMP® exam within one year. For the second and third attempts, an extra fee of $275 (for members) or $375 (for nonmembers) is required. If unsuccessful after three attempts, participants must wait for one year before reapplying for the exam.

The required time for the PMP (Project Management Professional) exam is flexible. It can differ majorly depending on your current experience and knowledge and the learning approach or PMP program you opt for. Generally, candidates spend around 2 to 4 months preparing, assuming a weekly commitment of 15-20 study hours. Includes going through the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) Guide and other study materials, completing practice questions, and reviewing complex concepts. Once you've successfully passed the PMP exam, you will receive your certification from the Project Management Institute within six weeks.

Being PMP certified means that an individual has achieved the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, which is a globally recognized and respected credential in the field of project management. This certification is offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI), a leading professional organization for project managers.

The PMP® Certification is valid for three years.

The PMP Renewal Fee (in USD) for a PMI member is $60, and for a non-member, it is $150.

To keep your PMP® certification in good standing, you must accumulate 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) over a three-year certification period.

Your completed audit forms can be sent to the address provided on the official site via regular postal mail or express courier service. You can reschedule or cancel your computer-based or online proctored exam up to 48 hours before the appointment. Due to limited availability, late changes will incur fees. If you foresee a scheduling conflict, immediately amend your appointment.

Please read the following policy carefully.

Within 30 days: If you reschedule or cancel your test within 30 days of the appointment date, a $70 fee applies. This charge will appear on your credit card as a Pearson VUE fee. The 30-day window doesn't include the test day; for example, if the test is on May 5, you have until April 4 to make changes without a fee.

Within 48-Hour Window: If you're within 48 hours of your exam, rescheduling or canceling are not permitted. If you miss the exam, you will lose the entire fee paid for it, and scheduling a new exam will require an additional re-examination charge.

Exceptional Cases: Under extenuating circumstances that prevent timely rescheduling or cancellation, PMI's Extenuating Circumstance Policy may apply, and cases will be reviewed individually for possible fee refunds. The extenuating circumstances can include:

                    • Medical emergency
                    • Military deployment

As you advance in your profession and aim to distinguish yourself, a PMP certification could be an asset.

Yes, PMP certification requires renewal every three years, which is done by earning 60 professional development units (PDUs) within those three years to maintain your certification status.

                    2. Planning: Objectives are set, and plans are developed to determine the project's course of action.
                    3. Executing: The tasks and activities outlined in the planning stage are implemented to reach the project's objectives.
                    4. Monitoring and Controlling: The project's progress and performance are tracked, reviewed, and regulated to ensure alignment with the project plan.
                    5. Closing: The project or a project phase is finalized and closed, including the completion of all project tasks and deliverables.

Individuals must achieve 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) every three years to keep their PMP certification up-to-date and adhere to the continuing certification requirements (CCR). Such PDUs are crucial to guarantee continuous professional growth and required certification compliance.
