US Unemployment Rate Continues to Dip, Over 7M Job Openings Available

In what seems to have become an expected trend this year, the US job market seems to be doing better than ever before. According to a recent report by the Labor Department, there are currently significantly more job openings in the US as compared to the number of unemployed people. These numbers stand at over 7 million job vacancies and 5.8 million unemployed in the first quarter of 2019. The report states that the US has added almost 263,000 jobs in the same timeframe bringing down the unemployment rate to 3.6 percent. This is the lowest recorded value since 1953.

The upward graph in employment and job openings is not limited just to the US. Similar trends have been observed in different countries across the globe.
