Unlike most systems which have a single point failure causing the entire system to crash in the event of one irregularity, Teradata comes with multiple nodes and joins which allow the program to retain overall functionality in the event of a problem. Thus, the inbuilt fault tolerance mechanism allows for high availability of data without loss of information.
