A Hadoop Developer is responsible for the actual coding or programming of Hadoop applications. This role is similar to that of a Software Developer.   • Test prototypes and oversee handover to operational teams.

Skills Required to Become a Hadoop Developer:

  • Hands on experience in HiveQL.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills, applied to Big Data domain
  • Proven understanding with Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, and HBase.
  • Good aptitude in multi-threading and concurrency concepts.

    I am new to the big data. I have a bachelors in computer science and knowledge on statistics through industrial engineering. My interest lies in big data analytics. But I have been working as a financial valuation specialist for the last couple of years and want to get into big data analytics. I am confused if I should pursue hadoop admin roles or hadoop dev roles for more analytical purposes?
